We all know Christ’s love has the power to save our souls. For Megan, a student at DePauw University, His love saved her life.
Megan grew up Catholic, but when she went away to college, she became immersed in the party lifestyle and drifted from her faith.
After one party during her sophomore year, Megan woke up in a place she didn’t remember. To escape the painful memories of what happened there, she threw herself deeper into a cycle of self-destruction.
“I was high or drunk almost all day, every day.… I had suicidal thoughts every day and felt there was no reason for me to keep living.”
Then, by the grace of God, a chaplain at her campus ministry introduced her to FOCUS missionaries. The missionaries got to know her in friendship, inviting her into Bible studies and onto a retreat.
“They got me excited about my faith—things felt possible again. Not only could I find happiness again, but I could share it with the people I loved who wanted more but didn’t know how to find it.”
We are grateful that Megan has allowed us to share her story. She is just one young life who has been saved thanks to generous gifts like yours.
