“I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord.’” – John 1:23

As a devout Catholic living in an increasingly secular world, you may feel, at times, that you are a voice crying out in a wilderness.

In fact, according to a 2013 Gallup poll, depending on where you live, your feelings may not be unfounded. Less than 30% of citizens in metro areas like Boulder, Co.; Burlington, Vt.; and Boston, Mass. identify themselves as “very religious.”

A SAVING VOICE CRIES OUT

But thanks to you, there’s a powerful Catholic voice in the heart of many of those cities and hundreds more throughout the country: FOCUS. The Boston metro area alone is home to three FOCUS campuses — Boston University, Harvard and MIT.

The Universities of Oregon in Eugene and Wisconsin Madison (7th and 12th on the “least religious” list, respectively) became FOCUS campuses in 2016 and are now thriving.

Since 2013, more than 500 students have been involved with FOCUS at the University of Colorado Boulder, and 18 FOCUS students made decisions to pursue Catholic religious vocations just in the last four years!

And if you’re looking for even more proof of the “FOCUS Effect,” our leadership conference, SLS18: Inspire & Equip, welcomed more than 8,000 participants this past year, over 3,000 more than our last SLS event.

EXTEND YOUR VOICE

Through our on-campus missionaries, FOCUS shares the message of Jesus Christ and the Catholic faith in some of the least religious places in the country.

By giving to FOCUS this Lent, you can give voice to the Gospel being proclaimed in these deserts of faith. You will join your voice into a culture-changing chorus of thousands ringing out around the world: We Are Setting the World on Fire for Christ!

Support FOCUS this Lenten season, extending a voice of faith to more young people in need of the saving power of God’s love.
