This is FOCUS New Staff Training
In south Florida, amidst the swamplands and mosquitoes, there is an unlikely event taking place. Every summer hundreds of FOCUS missionaries come together for five weeks of formation in the Christian life. This training and formation enables them to do the work they are about to undertake on college campuses across the United States.
Summed up, FOCUS, the Fellowship of Catholic University Students, is about launching college students into lifelong Catholic mission.
Missionaries are sent in teams to engage the culture on a college campus, leading small group Bible studies, one-on-one discipleship (mentorship), and just to share life with students.
Esteemed presenters include Dr. Jeff Cavins, Thomas Smith, Fr. D. Meconi, S.J., Dr. C. Brugger, Dr. Ted Sri, Fr. Kevin Dyer, S.J., as well as FOCUS Founder and President, Curtis Martin. Topics of study include prayer, Scripture, salvation history, evangelization, apologetics, fundraising, Catholic worldview, human formation and the virtues.
