"Best of FOCUS" in Dallas 2014 
In January 2014, FOCUS will present an experience unlike anything we have ever hosted. SLS – which stands for Student Leadership Summit – will bring 2,500 of our most committed student missionaries together for five days of innovative training in the New Evangelization. This dynamic event will be even more interactive, collaborative and hands-on than our 2012 summit. Students are going to roll up their sleeves and learn how to practically apply the best practices that we teach within our organization. SLS will showcase the “Best of FOCUS” in terms of top-rated speakers and entertainers. Some of the best speakers will be present to teach and inspire the students in attendance. One of the really exciting elements is that after certain presentations, the students themselves will be the ones who will then present to their peers. This will help engrain the presented teachings and give student missionaries the opportunity to better internalize the material and vocalize it in their own unique way. The core of how FOCUS understands its mission comes from 2 Tim 2:2, where Paul tells Timothy that “what you have heard from me before many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” It’s teaching teachers to teach. This is precisely the essence of SLS, and we are excited to invest deeply in the students who will attend.
