Mark Bartek
FOCUS Area Director, East
Mark Bartek is the East Area Director for FOCUS, serving 43 schools and 175 missionaries. If you’re looking for a Tough Mudder teammate, Mark’s your guy: He’s competed in six Tough Mudders, with more on his list. Mark joined FOCUS back in 2006 and is currently serving in his eleventh year with the organization. Mark lives in Lakewood, Colorado, with his wife, Angie, and their six children.
Marshall Bolling
Team Director, University of Alabama; Alumnus of Sigma Tau Gamma
Marshall hails from the great city of Birmingham, Alabama, and is a proud graduate of Auburn University, where he studied industrial and systems engineering. While at Auburn, Marshall became a member of Sigma Tau Gamma and went on to become the vice president of the fraternity. During college, he was heavily impacted by FOCUS missionaries and chose to join FOCUS as an on-campus missionary. He has been on staff for three years with FOCUS and currently serves as the team director at the University of Alabama. Marshall has had the opportunity to hike all over the world and has even been bungee jumping in New Zealand.
Lisa Cotter
Speaker and Author;
Founder of Made to Magnify
Lisa Cotter is a nationally sought-after speaker on the topics of relationships, femininity and living life with excellence. Since 2007, she and her husband, Kevin, have served FOCUS as a family. Lisa and Kevin are the co-authors of “Dating Detox: 40 Days of Perfecting Love in an Imperfect World” and the co-hosts of the How-to Catholic podcast. Lisa is the founder of Made to Magnify, a ministry with a mission to help people become saints — because it’s worth it.
James Dunnigan
FOCUS Regional Director, South; Alumnus of Sigma Phi Epsilon
James Dunnigan, an alumnus of Sigma Phi Epsilon, graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in economics and has a master’s degree from the University of South Florida in education. He is currently in his sixth year with FOCUS, serving as a Regional Director for the South. Beforehand, he was a missionary at Auburn University, the University of Florida and a Regional Director for the West. Born a cradle Catholic, James fell away from his faith in college and was caught in the party lifestyle. It wasn’t until his senior year that he attended a retreat and had a profound encounter with Jesus in the Eucharist — and from there, he developed a passion for Greek college students. In his free time, James enjoys skiing, triathlons and reading G.K. Chesterton. He currently resides in Denver, Colorado, and is excited to be part of the Legacy experience.
Rev. Victor P. Ingalls
Director of Vocations, Archdiocese of Mobile; Alumnus of Kappa Alpha
Fr. Victor Ingalls grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. He attended Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. While there, he joined the Kappa Alpha Order, where he served as social chair and president. He also enjoyed involvement in Student Government and playing Rugby before graduating in 2006. Upon graduation, Fr. Victor entered seminary for the Archdiocese of Mobile. He spent two years in Philadelphia at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary and then four years at the Pontifical North American College in Rome. Fr. Victor was ordained on June 2, 2012, in Mobile and then served as the associate pastor for two years at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Auburn and then at Christ the King Parish in Daphne. In August of 2016, he began as the full-time vocations director for the Archdiocese of Mobile.
Samantha Kelley
Founder and President FIERCE Athlete, Inc.
Samantha currently works as the educational program manager for the Theology of the Body Institute. She is also the founder and president of FIERCE Athlete Inc., a nonprofit that reaches out to female athletes across the country. Prior to this, she worked for FOCUS and Varsity Catholic for five years. She holds a master’s degree in Catholic psychology from Divine Mercy University and bachelor’s degrees in finance and political science from the University of Connecticut, where she also played soccer. She currently resides near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where you can find her rowing competitively on the Schuylkill River, embarking on an outdoor adventure or enjoying a good craft beer with friends.
John Leyendecker
Speaker; Director of The Holy Family School of Faith
John Leyendecker lived a very prodigal lifestyle that led him to search for fulfillment in drugs, alcohol and unchaste relationships until his conversion to Catholicism in 1999. From that place of brokenness, John shares what Jesus Christ has done in his life. He has had the opportunity to share the truth of Christ and His Church in numerous venues over the years, making him even more passionate for the work of the New Evangelization. Currently, John is the director of The Holy Family School of Faith in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he lives with his wife and their seven children.
Kelby Meyers
Kelby lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife, Maeg, and their two children: Catherine (Kate) and Thomas. Kelby served as a missionary with FOCUS from 2012 to 2014 at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He is now an independent financial adviser and works with business owners and other professionals, individuals and families to help them prepare for their financial future. In his spare time, you will occasionally find Kelby in the adoration chapel, at the gym or the golf course, but more often than not you’ll find him at home with his family. He is passionate about giving back and is involved with the Godteen youth ministry and Engaged Encounter in his local community.
Daniel Paris
Senior Formation Specialist, FOCUS
Daniel Paris, originally from Alexandria, Virginia, is currently in his sixth year with FOCUS as a senior Formation specialist. A graduate of the College of William and Mary, he holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in theology from the Augustine Institute. Daniel came alive in his faith in college after a powerful encounter with Christ on a retreat. With his job, Daniel specializes in intellectual formation and designs curriculum for FOCUS’ national training, through which he lives out his passion for discovering, sharing and teaching the profound and life-changing truths of the Catholic faith. Daniel likes to spend his spare time exploring the beautiful mountains of Colorado by snowboarding, swing dancing and playing ultimate Frisbee. He is known by his friends for having no sense of smell. One thing you might never know is that Daniel has serenaded the Queen of England with his college a cappella group and might even sing for you here at Legacy!
Kelsey Skoch
Regional Director, Parish Outreach; Alumna of Kappa Delta
Kelsey Skoch is in her sixth year with FOCUS, currently serving as the Regional Director for Parish Outreach. After graduating with a business marketing degree from the University of Kansas, her passion for mission started when she interned at two Fortune 500 companies and saw the greater need for Christ in our world. Through speaking at international and national Catholic conferences, emceeing at World Youth Day 2016 and training hundreds of missionaries each year, Kelsey has been able to share her love of Christ to thousands all over the world. She considers Chipotle and footie pajamas the finer things in life, is a proud Kappa Delta Alum and currently resides with her husband in Denver, Colorado.
Mallory A. Smyth
Speaker at Inheritance,
Alumna of Kappa Delta
Mallory Smyth speaks around the country on topics such as the Catholic worldview, inheritance of faith and the feminine genius. Mallory fell in love with Jesus during her junior year at Louisiana State University and entered into full-time ministry after one year of working as an accountant. She served as a FOCUS missionary for five years and is currently the director of program growth for ENDOW, Educating on the Dignity of Women. It is her dream to see this generation of Catholics fall deeply in love with the God who loved them first, fully living the joy of the Gospel. Mallory currently lives in Denver with her husband, Jared, and their two daughters, Penelope and Eliza.
